A Unique Co-Living Experince For Families
Imagine your family waking up surrounded by the peaceful highlands of Colombia, where forests, mountains, and coffee fields create an environment for connection to self, to community, and to nature. This is more than just a retreat. This July 2025, Nomad Nest invites you to experience a month-long co-living experience, at Casa Sumpapaz, where you’ll find a place that feels like home and where each family member has the space to connect with others, rejuvenate, and experience how supportive it feels to connect with other families who share the same values.
About Casa Sumapaz
Casa Sumapaz is a holistic retreat center nestled in the tranquil mountains of Arbelaez, Colombia, just southwest of Bogotá. With an emphasis on well-being, environmental care, and mindful living, this center is designed to help guests reconnect with themselves, each other, and nature. Daily temperatures of 18-24°C keep things comfortable as you enjoy the lush forests, fresh air, and a strong sense of community care that is felt throughout Casa Sumapaz. What’s Included in the Co-Living Experience
Your Own Family Sanctuary: Every family will enjoy a private room with cozy, eco-conscious touches—think fresh linens, natural toiletries, and furnishings crafted to help you feel comfortable and at home. Daily tidying is included, with deep cleaning offered every four days or on request.
Meals Made to Nourish and Connect: Breakfast and lunch are served buffet-style with fresh, organic, and local ingredients to nourish you. In the evenings, we come together for a communal dinner, with families pitching in to serve a meal that brings everyone to the table, like one big family.
Activities for All Ages: there’s something for everyone; walk along the trails through the coffee plantation or native forest; put your hands in the garden and feed yourself with the fruits and vegetables that grow from it, learning a bit of permaculture while you’re at it; take a swim in the natural pool; reconnect to your inner child in the hobbit house, where you can fly on the swing, walk the slack-line, climb the crazy ladder, balance on logs, and play other games. Co-working spaces with reliable Wi-Fi make it easy to balance work with family and play. Other activities like meditation, eco-art, and group discussions help deepen your connection to each other and the surrounding environment.
Colombian Cultural & Mind-Body Immersion: Explore the beauty of the region and other services through optional experiences like yoga, temazcal (a traditional steam ritual), visits to local cocoa farms, river excursions and more. These experiences let you sink into the rhythms of Colombia and bond as a family.

Step 1: Share Your Interest & Join Nomad Nest. First let us know your family is interested in participating. Afterwards, become a member to access these exclusive co-living experiences, and complete a short application to tell us about your family’s goals and values.
Step 2: Get Matched & Meet Your Group. We’ll review your application to build a balanced community. You’ll join a virtual meet-up with other confirmed families to connect before arrival.
Step 3: Confirm & Prepare for Colombia. Secure your spot with a booking payment, and receive onboarding guidance with travel tips, schedules, and group chat access.

What’s included in the co-living experience?
Your stay includes private accommodations, all daily meals, access to shared spaces, some activities, and community support from Nomad Nest.How does the payment structure work?
Reserve your spot with a deposit. The remaining balance is due 60 days before the start date. If minimum occupancy isn’t met, we’ll refund your deposit in full.Can we customize our experience?
Yes, you’re welcome to join planned activities or explore on your own. Optional excursions, like yoga or cultural tours, are available for an additional fee. Please tell us of any dietary needs or restrictions.How do you select families?
